What do you need to know? (prerequisites)
This course, the basics of food and nutrition, is exactly what it sounds like. You will learn about the basics of food and nutrition from a scientific point of view but in a way that is applicable to your everyday life. This means that you do not need to have a background in chemistry or biology. During the course, we will touch upon several subjects that will be familiar to people who have a basic background in science (high school level) but if you do not have this: now orries! You will still be able to follow along, and you can choose how deep you want to delve into the scientific subjects.
Who is my teacher?
Obviously, you would like to know who is coming on this adventure with you! My name is Anna and I have a background in food science and technology. I have worked in the food industry for about a decade, and while doing so, I specialized in Nutrition. I am a registered Nutritionist in the United Kingdom (registered with the XX) and I am also a Registered Dietitian in the United States (registered with XX).
In 2013, I decided that I wanted to share my passion for food science and nutrition as a side project. That led to a lot of experimenting to try and find the right way to do this but in the end it resulted in the websites Truthful Food and Truthful Science.www.truthful-food.com: NUT01 The Basics of Food and Nutrition www.truthful-science.com: NUT01 The Basics of Food and Nutrition
What will I learn?

I hope you enjoy the course as much as I enjoyed making it and teaching it. If you have any questions, you can post them on the forum or search to see if any of the other students has had the same issue. You never know!
Enjoy and I am excited to see how you progress on your journey!
